First, this is not a precise table saw.  This is due to a mix of design flaws and poor manufacturing choices. The placement of the blade guard makes it impossible to see the blade during the cut, which is going to make you less precise and frustrated to boot. The fence is cheap, and may or may not be straight, but even if it is, you have to deal with the fact that flaws in the table itself may result in it not clamping down straight.
The final brand that’s definitely worth a mention when it comes to evaluating the brands we’ll be featuring in our table saw reviews is Ryobi. They’re largely known for manufacturing components for use in the automobile, electronics and telecommunications industry. However, they’ve more recently branched out into their own range of power tools and other hardware related tools, including table saws. With that taken into consideration, from our experience of Ryobi’s products, we’d definitely say that they’re a brand well worth keeping your eye on.
If the fence and the miter slot were closer together at the rear of the saw, the dial indicator has a negative reading. If the blade and the miter slot were father apart at the rear of the saw, the dial indicator showed a positive reading. A negative reading meant that the materials being cut might be subject to being pinched and a kick back more likely to occur.
If you need a table saw that can travel, the Bosch 4100-09 consistently earns high marks. Reviewers praise its power, accuracy, easy setup, and easy blade changes. They also love the gravity-rise wheeled stand, which rolls smoothly and snaps open or folds flat in a single lever-activated motion. Finally, they appreciate the convenience of the blade guard system, complete with riving knife and anti-kickback pawls.
Once you’ve made sure that the table saw is unplugged and there aren’t any extra materials in your workspace, you should turn your attention to the miter slot. It is important that all measurements are precise and exact – nothing short of parallel will do. Once you’ve measured the blade and the miter slot, you’ll need to check the fencing as well.
While you may be tempted to skip straight to the reviews, they are a bit on the technical side and contain plenty of terms you might not be familiar with just yet. My suggestion would be to start by reading the informational articles which will provide you with a decent amount of knowledge on table saws. After that, I sincerely doubt you would be caught off-guard while reading anything in the review section.
